Cecilia Lee
Cecilia “Kainoa” Ka’imina’auao Lee, 84, of Hilo died Feb. 25, 2018, at her residence. Born in Hilo, she was a retired housekeeper at Life Care Center of Hilo, formerly employed at the former Naniloa Surf Hotel and Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut and a member of Ke Kilohana O Ka Malamalama Church.
Friends may call 5-6 p.m. March 30 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel; wake service at 6. Friends may call again 9-10 a.m. March 31 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel; funeral service at 10. Burial to follow at Alae Cemetery. Casual attire.
Survived by son, Llewellyn (Wendy) Lee of Hilo; daughters, Karen Hussey of Hilo, Margaret (Vicente) Navor of Hilo, Evelyn Lee of Hilo; brother, Benjamin Kamekona of San Francisco, California; sister-in-law, Thelma Kamekona of Maui; 14 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

John Taira
John C. Taira, 97, of Hilo, died Feb. 23, 2018, at the Hawaii Care Choices—Pohai Malama Care Center in Hilo. He was a retired mechanic and the owner of John’s Auto Service.
Private family services held. No koden (monetary donations).
He is survived by his daughters, Joann K. (Loren) Buffington of Roscoe, Ill., Susan N. (Greg) Tamon of Aiea, Sandra N. (Dean) Sumida of Hilo, Sharon S. Erwin of Seattle, Wash. and Gere Taira of Hilo; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Custis Green
Custis R. Green, Jr., 95, died Feb. 27, 2018, at the Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. He was a World War II veteran, pianist and singer, member of the DAV — Puna Chapter No. 9, Haili Kumiai, St. Lucia National Trust, St. Lucia Naturalist Society, former member of Unitarian Roundtable and First United Protestant Church.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Koshare Indian Museum (115 W. 18th St., La Junta, CO 81050).
He is survived by spouse, Annette Green of Hilo, HI; daughters, Ruth Sandoval of Columbus, Ga., and Amy (Fred) Nutter of Rockaway Beach, Ore.; son, Curtis (Amy) Green III of Blaine, Minn.; 7 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; four stepchildren; four step grandchildren; one step great-grandchild; nieces and nephews.
